We are so close to being finished! Hopefully, by next Friday, April 19th, 2019 this beauty will be listed FOR SALE! As we like to call her “Oliver” has been amazing, but when you are this close to being done, you just want to be outta here… Hasta La Vista Oliver!

I do get nervous with all the last minute details and bringing in the best accessories to make her shine, but it will get done! I can’t express how lucky the new owners will be with this great neighborhood and neighbors. They have been so welcoming and friendly! The next owners are going to love it.

Since I have neglected to share a blog post in a while, I wanted to get you all caught up! Here are some progress photographs from a few months ago to now. I am starting to tick all of my boxes!

We had to remove the original plywood in the master bedroom to run new ductwork and plumbing. Miguel is starting to lay the new plywood in this photo.

Once the new plywood was laid framing the bathroom shower walls began. The angled shower walls softened the jet-out into the master bedroom.

I love this photo for the stillness of it, but Ben felt like he was sheetrocking for months. Needless to say a lot of new sheetrock was installed.

Tile selection. I started out ordering a ton of samples off of wayfair, but life just became a whole lot easier going to The Tile Shop. You give and take. It’s also nice for the fact that you can return whatever you don’t use, which doesn’t happen online.

I do love this Wayfair tile though. It looks fantastic installed in the master bathroom.

This master bathroom shower is amazing with a tiled bench and all! Thanks to Ben for killing his back and fitting himself in this shower for days. Since it was a smaller space we kept it light and airy with a cream subway tile and gray penny rounds on the floor and shower niche.

Oh paint how I love you and how you can transform a room or door. We were in the process of painting all of the doors gray.

Again… another paint transformation. This 4-season porch went from drab to fab with a light airy paint choice.

I love when you find original wood floors and can save them! We were able to have the flooring company install matching wood flooring in the kitchen. It matched the rest of the main floor house and then refinish them all to blend. They are like butter – yay!
6628 Oliver Ave Richfield Black Kitchen Tile_web
Oh hello black kitchen and beautiful tile! This tile would make me happy every time I cooked.

We already went with a bold cabinets color and statement tile behind the range that I decided to go neutral for the rest of the kitchen. A beautiful matte cafe latte color subway tile was installed.

Textures are my everything! I lucked out and found these hammered metal hand pulls and knobs at Menards of all places. I was worried they would blend too much, but I’m glad I went with my gut and bought them! They blend perfectly and offer amazing texture to the straight lines of the kitchen.
6628 Oliver Ave Richfield quartz countertops and pendant lighting_web
I always forget home much lighting you have to think about during a remodel as well. I could only shop for 2 fixtures at a time before I got completely overwhelmed. I did have to make 18 light fixture decisions!

I leaned on my husband a lot when I would get hung up on design decisions. He’s good at making the final decisions once I lead him there ha ha. He made the final call on this light fixture in the livingroom and I actually love it. It’s a little touch of retro. He also made the final call on the herringbone limestone tile on the floor in front of the fireplace. It’s stunning!
6628 Oliver Ave Richfield Retro Doorbell_web
I had some funny attachment to this doorbell. It is original and I adore it. We had to install new mechanics behind it. I’m lucky enough to have many jack-of-all-trades around me so my metal guy created a new metal plate for it to be hung back up on. It’s just a piece of the house that is meant to stay put.
6628 Oliver Ave Richfield cleaning up the exterior_web
When we bought this house it was at the end of the summer and it has really nice gardens. We haven’t had to do much to the outside just clean up the beds and re mulch. We got it done before the snow decided to fly again! What Minnesota, Why!
